At Lincolnwood Library, we want every visitor to feel safe, welcome, and able to enjoy their time with us. That means being thoughtful about what kinds of wheels roll into the building.
What’s Welcome Inside
- ✅ Strollers – perfect for families visiting with young children.
- ✅ Wheelchairs and other mobility devices – ensuring accessibility for all.
What Should Stay Outside
- 🚫 Bicycles
- 🚫 Scooters and e-scooters
- 🚫 Shopping carts
- 🚫 Other recreational wheels
Why the difference? Strollers and mobility devices are designed to support comfort, safety, and accessibility inside the library. Other wheeled items, such as scooters, bicycles, and carts, can create safety hazards in indoor spaces.
Note: We do have bike locks available to check out while you are visiting.
Community Alignment
This approach also aligns with the Village of Lincolnwood’s ordinance, which prohibits the operation of e-scooters on public streets, sidewalks, parks, and bike paths, as well as on private property without consent. You can learn more about the ordinance on the Village’s official website:

Thank You
