November Is Writing Month at Lincolnwood Library

Whether you’re a seasoned storyteller or just starting to write, November is the perfect time to put your ideas on paper. Join us for November Writing Month at Lincolnwood Library, where we’ll help you find inspiration, set goals, and connect with other writers in our community.

Throughout the month, we’re hosting programs designed to spark creativity, build good writing habits, and offer support at every stage of your writing journey.

🖋️ November Writing Challenge

November 1–30
Get into the habit of writing with our November Writing Challenge! Pick up a challenge log at the library and track each day you write at least 250 words (about half a page). Write for at least 20 days in November, and you’ll earn a high-quality journal to keep your creativity flowing. Submit your completed log by Sunday, December 7, at the Adult Services desk.

✍️ Talking Publishing with Author Lori Rader-Day

Tuesday, November 4, 7–8 PM
Award-winning author Lori Rader-Day joins us for an in-person conversation about her writing career and the publishing process. Rader-Day, the Edgar Award-nominated and Agatha, Anthony, and Mary Higgins Clark award-winning author of Wreck Your Heart (forthcoming January 2026), The Death of Us, and Under a Dark Sky, will share insights and answer audience questions.

📚 Lincolnwood Writes: Writing Club (Hybrid)

Wednesday, November 5, 7–9 PM
Meet other writers and share your work in a supportive environment. Whether you’re writing for fun or pursuing publication, this monthly club helps you foster creativity and receive constructive feedback. Open to high school students and adults. Registration required to receive Zoom information.

☕ Open Creative Write-In

Monday, November 10, 7–8 PM
Sometimes the hardest part of writing is finding the time and space. Bring your laptop, notebook, or favorite writing tools, and join us for a relaxed evening of focused creativity. We’ll provide writing prompts, snacks, and an encouraging atmosphere—perfect for making progress on your November Writing Challenge or your next big project.

Join us this November and see where your writing takes you!
