This month we will be reading The Personal Librarian by Marie Benedict:

Belle is hired to curate a collection for the Pierpont Morgan Library. She becomes a fixture in New York City society but has a secret: her complexion isn’t dark because of her alleged Portuguese heritage that lets her pass as white—her complexion is dark because she is African American.
