A Change to Our Hours on Fridays & Saturdays Starting in April

We would like to share an important update to our Library hours. Beginning the first week of April, we will be adjusting our Friday and Saturday hours to 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM from our current hours of 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM.

We understand that change can sometimes be met with mixed feelings, so we want to take a moment to explain the reasoning behind this adjustment. After meticulously analyzing the data from the past year, we noticed a consistent trend: the 5:00 PM hour on Fridays and Saturdays was significantly quieter compared to all other times during the week. However, we also observed a consistent influx of patrons arriving early and waiting to be let in.

This insight prompted us to reassess our hours to better align with the needs and habits of our community. By shifting our closing time from 6:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays, we aim to optimize our resources and ensure that our services are available when they are most needed.

With this change, patrons will still have ample time to browse our collection, access resources, and seek assistance from our knowledgeable staff. Moreover, those who prefer to visit us earlier in the day will now have an extra hour to do so.

Thankfully in some ways, Lincolnwood Library is never closed. Various online resources are available 24/7. Lincolnwood cardholders can download or stream digital materials on Libby, Hoopla, Kanopy, and Comics Plus. Access free resources including Consumer Reports, Mango Languages, and Creativebug. You can continue to search our online catalog and put items on hold from the comfort of your home or on the go. 

We believe that these adjustments will enhance the overall library experience for everyone.
